ALRIGHT! You either already have a photographer booked for your engagement photos or you are almost there but you want to ensure you have some epic Engagment photos. Here are some of my favorite tips to ensure your engagement photos are literally to die for.
TIP 1: YOUR OUTFIT IS KEYY + TIP 2: BRING TWO OUTFITS
you should be comfortable in your outfit and you should definitely pick an outfit that feels you and that makes you feel GOOD. I always always suggest to bring at least two outfits if your photographer allows it, that way you can get two outfit changes with two completely different vibes. A more casual vibe, but also a more elegant vibe. Also, keep in mind on the colors you are wearing and the colors your photographer photographs best. You will typically see a common color in their editing style + what they post on socials and this helps because it allows you to see which colors compliment your photographers edit and this is KEY. Most photographer will have an outfit guide, if you follow their outfit guide you are pretty much headed in the right direction.
TIP 3: MAKE SURE YOU SEE YOUR BABES OUTFIT/S
you want to make sure that your outfits work well with one another! so try them on beforehand to really ensure you’re set to go! Make sure each of you can frolic around in the outfit you choose. Your photographer might have you sitting on the ground, doing a small run, etc. you want to make sure you can move around in our clothes comfortably!
TIP 4: HAIR + MAKEUP
Do your hair and makeup either the way your normally do OR go the professional route! It is extremely important that you like the outcome of your hair and your makeup. If you want hair blowing in your photos like the DREAMY kind of hear blowing then leave your hair down! 🙂 Keep in mind that if you are doing a casual outfit how will your casual outfit look with a really fancy hair do and same goes for makeup!
TIP 5: SCHEDULE A MANICURE
make sure your nail get some good TLC, a manicure isn’t required but if you can’t get one at least make sure that if you have nail polish on that it’s not chipped!
TIP 6: TAKE A SHOT & TRUST YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER
if you are feeling a bit nervous that is 10000% normal! Engagement photos can seem/sound scary but they aren’t! It’s your photographers job to make you comfortable during your session – but if you want to take it a step further just take a quick shot right beforehand in the parking lot to loosen up a bit. Lastly, trust your photographer! We get things may sound silly, but we promise the two of you are looking absolutely STUNNING.
